Quilting is priced by the square inch, based on the actual length × width of your quilt top. Your final cost will depend on the actual size of your quilt and any additional services you choose.
Edge-to-edge quilting is $0.02 per square inch.
How quilting cost is calculated: Your quilting price is based on the actual measurements of your quilt top. For example, a quilt measuring 90″ × 100″ is 9,000 square inches. At $0.02 per square inch, the quilting cost would be $180.
The sizes listed below are batting sizes and prices, not quilt-size estimates. Your batting and backing need to extend 4–6 inches beyond the quilt top on all four sides.
| Quilt Type | Batting Size | Batting | Quilt Setup Fee | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Crib | 45 x 60 | $15 | $10.00 | |
| Twin | 72 x 90 | $31 | $12.50 | |
| Full | 90 x 96 | $37 | $12.50 | |
| Queen | 90 x 108 | $41 | $15.00 | |
| King | 120 x 120 | $47 | $15.00 | |
Batting is priced by packaged size, as shown above. I stock Warm Company Warm & White batting and also use Quilters Dream. If I do not have the packaged size needed for your quilt, I can cut batting from my roll at the same price as the corresponding packaged size.
You are also welcome to provide your own batting. Please provide a high-quality, low-loft batting suitable for longarm quilting and allow it to extend 4–6 inches beyond the quilt top on all four sides. If you’re unsure whether your batting will work with my machine, please ask before sending it. Black batting is also available by special order; please let me know in advance if you need it.
Quilt Setup Fee — $10.00–$15.00 per quilt. The setup fee includes pattern selection and sizing, loading and basting the quilt to the longarm frame, a new needle, and thread. Setup fees are based on quilt size: Crib $10.00, Twin/Full $12.50, and Queen/King $15.00.
Backing — I have Premium Muslin available if you would like me to make the backing for your quilt. The cost is $13.00 per yard and includes the fabric, cutting, piecing, and seaming.
Binding — $0.31 per linear inch. This includes cutting and joining the binding strips, machine sewing the binding to the front of the quilt, and hand stitching it to the back.
Patterns — I have a wide variety of edge-to-edge quilting patterns, including loops, circles, swirls, feathers, animals, holiday designs, meanders, modern designs, and more. If you don’t find the perfect pattern in my library, additional patterns are available from designers such as Urban Elements and Anne Bright Designs. There is a $12.00 charge for a new pattern purchased specifically for your quilt.
